When I bought her, the truck had been driven, enjoyed, and mechanically upgraded across many moons since its frame-off rebuild. Georgia Red's was green, navy, and primer brown. Originally a green truck, she had a hood and passenger door that had been blue in a previous lift. I cannot say when or how the sheet metal came together. I only know that the Jeff had rhino-lined the tub and purchased the tailgate from another truck.
I took four bids on a paint job from shops including the local low-budget chain up and another shop known for only perfection-focused rebuilding of American classic cars. After reviewing the good and the bad of the body, my intentions for the truck, and price, price, price, I decided to use the local low-budget shop.
I worked with them on the following deal:
- $600.00 Strip to metal and prime
- $342.00 Body repair work
- 6.3 hours of body work
- 3.2 hours of fiberglass top repair
- $250.00 Paint body red
- $250.00 Paint door jambs & tailgate black
- $150.00 Paint inside of doors black
- $275.00 Paint entire top (in & out) white
- $85.50 Material and supplies
- $15.00 Sublease / Environmental Fee
These pictures show portions of the truck with bondo after she was stripped of paint and just before priming.

If you're not visually familiar with this, you can see the bondo in the grey and irregular white patches in the photos. Some of the white patches are reflections from the camera flash off the shiny, stripped metal. The distinction is pretty easy to see.
